Seth Tyler wishes he could write a blank check and be done with his sister Maya's fancy-pants wedding. Unfortunately, micromanaging the event is his only chance at proving Maya’s fiance is a liar. Standing directly in his way is the stunning blonde wedding planner whose practiced smiles and sassy comebacks both irritate and arouse him. He needs Brooke’s help. But can he persuade a wedding planner on a comeback mission to unplan a wedding? And more importantly, how will he convince her that the wedding she should be planning... is theirs?

Brooke Baldwin is a celebrity wedding planner from LA trying to make a fresh start in NYC after finding out her ex-fiancee was a conman on the day of their wedding. While she's standing at the altar no less. Having the FBI show up and put the man you're on the verge of saying vows to in handcuffs does something to a girl. Like ruin your career and leaving your view on love in the dust. So what do you do? You move across country and accept a job with the elite Wedding Belles. Brooke is definitely ready for a new start. But she's not ready for Seth Tyler.
Seth Tyler is the CEO of The Tyler Group. He's a controlling Hotel Mogul that holds the purse strings to Brooke's first client, Maya Tyler. The thing is...Seth doesn't trust Maya's fiancee Neil. He thinks he is after Maya's money. And he just may be. But Seth needs to proves it. Seth will do anything to protect his baby sister now that their father has passed away. That's why he needs Brooke's help. He needs her to unplan the wedding instead of ACTUALLY planning it. But will Brooke go along with his plan?
As far as these two together as a couple, I can say that they did have some good chemistry and some vulnerable moments. It wasn't off the charts explosive but it was there.
Do you have a vulnerable side?”
“I do. Her name is Brooke.”
Her lips parted slightly as happiness washed over her. “You know I'm already going to sleep with you, right? You don't have to woo me with romance.”
“No? In that case...” He lowered his mouth to her ear. “Take me upstairs so I can fuck you. Hard.”
Some parts of this story was really sweet. But there was also some moments that had me going, "SERIOUSLY?" Such as Brooke. You'd think with the past she has she would understand and share Seth's feelings concerning Neil. But nope!
The story was intriguing and kept me well entertained throughout the book. I just honestly wish I could have loved this book. I'm not sure if its the fact that I've never read any books by Lauren Layne or if it was just missing that "oomph" that I usually need to push my books to a five star. Either way it was a good read. I wasn't disappointed and I will follow this series and author because everyone deserves a second chance.
